Young Living Essential Oils

December 3rd, 2009

Young Living Essential Oils are one of my passions. Gary Young is the founder of Young Living Oils. He distills the oils from plants to provide healing oils for all people. He distills oils that are food grade, meaning they are edible. There are a few exceptions as some oils should not be taken internally. ‘
It takes many hundreds of plants to produce an essential oil that is pure. If an oil is inexpensive it has probably been diluted. There are a few oils that are in the $15.00- $20.00 range that are pure. Pure rose oil for example is about $150.00.
There are different schools of thought on the use of oils. Some aroma therapists do not use blends. Some do not recommend using them straight but only apply them diluted with a carrier oil. Some schools of aroma therapy only diffuse oils. However you choose to use them, it is best to purchase a desk reference and be informed on how to use them. Mineral oil is not recommended.
Place a cracker in mineral oil and in a short time it will be hard as a rock. Check your lotions label for mineral oil and avoid using it.
If you find an oil feels tingly or burning a carrier oil should be applied to dilute it. You can use olive oil, coconut oil first, grapeseed oil, almond oil, but not water. Trying to wash them off may make it feel stronger. I began using oils about 8 years ago. I applied them all over my body where ever I felt like it. I never realized that it might cause a reaction…never had one. I have had people have emotional reactions to smelling a lot of oils at one time. I did use them on my feet frequently.
Some oils can cause skin sensitivity. Some can interact with blood thinners for example oil of oregano. A wonderful oil. These oils come from the same herbs that you use in your cooking but they are concentrated and they are measured so that when you use an oil, the same healing chemicals are at the same concentration in each bottle.
People have been collecting the oils from plants and using them as medicines and cleaners for hundreds of years. The advantage of oils over herbs is the oils do not loose their potency if stored properly.
Many oils are anti bacterial, anti fungal, anti viral according to the ” Essential Oils desk reference”. Each oil has a vibrational frequency. Some work better for physical healing and some for emotional healing and some for spiritual healing. Some are just fun because they smell wonderful and may remind us of a great time in our life. Some oils will smell terrible to us, and that may mean we need them the most.
The young living oils are not cut with petro chemicals like many other brands that are not to be taken internally. Knowing that things absorb through our skin, it is a good idea to avoid chemicals in our lotions and soaps.
It is best to start out using the oils on the bottom of your feet. It is the least likely place to have a reaction. Tender skin should be tested with a small drop and wait a day to see if you have any reaction. Sometimes oils will react with the chemicals that have been stored in our fat cells from shampoos,or laundry soaps or pesticides in our coffee or foods, or our enviroment. The chemicals that we clean with can also be floating in the air and be inhaled and then stored in our tissues.
That is why it is nice to clean with essential oils that are pure. They are wonderful to inhale and create a sense of well being. I love to put oils in my diffuser and let the air be wonderfully scented.
Wearing oils is a way to diffuse them into the environment. Every oil has a vibration. When you no longer smell the oil, the vibration is still present.

One of the least expensive and most useful oils is lavender. It is gentle, can be used to help heal skin rashes, burns, cuts, bruises, helps people to be calm, helps people fall asleep and The Essential Oils desk reference states” researchers in Japan found that diffusing lavender in an office decreased errors by 20%! I need to wear the entire bottle!
One of my favorite oils is called Peace and Calming. It is very relaxing. It is wonderful to wear around children when they are wound up or animals. It helps to wear it when the demands of the week are getting overwhelming. It also helps to wear it around people who are upset or angry. Just wear the vibration.

Another wonderful essential oil is Thieves. It is a blend that is antiviral, antiseptic, and antibacterial. Please check out the reference manual for a broader description. It contains clove, lemon, cinnamon bark, eucalyptus, and rosemary. Wonderful to use in the winter to stay healthy.

Thieves can also be used to clean the house with or the car. I like it. My friend does not like it. She called me the other day after trying the oil purification to clean with. She was amazed at how clean the grout in her tile got. She wants me to come over to see it. Plus she prefers the smell of purification to thieves. I prefer thieves to the scent of purification.
Animals are very sensitive to cleaners. They respond wonderfully to essential oils. A caution is to avoid putting essential oils on cats. They should not be made to stay in a room where oils are being diffused.
Lately I have been diffusing spruce and wearing spruce. I had never tried it before but I think it is wonderful. One of its attributes is bring about a feeling of balance per the Essential Oil desk reference, which can be found atAbundant Health website Essential oil desk reference. or The Young Living Wisdom online store
There are so many wonderful testimonials from people who use the oils. They have helped people to heal themselves, and their animals. There are so many choices of essential oils that there will be a favorite out there for you. Find a young living distributor and get smelling.
