“Don’t Miss Your Life”

July 25th, 2009

Ms. Charlene Ann Baumbich spoke at a dinner I attended in Woodstock, IL. sponsered by my favorite book store ” READ BETWEEN the LYNES”. Ms. Baumbich is a funny speaker who had us engaged from the start. She has written a book titled, “Don’t Miss Your Life!”
One of the things I took away from her talk that evening was that we should make our own memory portfolio. Most of already have a MP (memory portfolio). What we need to do is pull those memories out and actually write them down. While writing them down, we may be amazed to find the many blessings that have already graced our life. If our MP is full of the terrible events that we have experienced, it may be time to off set those stories with the wonderful things that we have experience. It is possible that we find it easier to find the negative than the positive stories and we can use it as an opportunity to take a new look at our life.
Ms. Baumbich shared with us the series of events that led to her becoming a writer and a speaker and she shares her “just do it” mind set. Many of us are not doing what we are being called to do because we fear failure, or we do not think we are qualified or we think it would be to hard to change mid life, or we think our parents, spouse etc would not approve of us. She encourages us to do pay attention to the opportunities in our life and follow the path that unfolds before us.
We are our best cheerleaders. We need to focus on positive thoughts and cheer ourselves on.
She is a great example of what can be accomplished by following your inner guidance. She also approaches life with a wonderful sense of humor.
She has written a book called “Don’t Miss Your Kids” which I have not read but she touched briefly on enjoying the now with your kids. Otherwise, they may be grown up one day and you missed out on the fun because you were driven by the gotta dos. Gotta clean the house, gotta go to work, gotta go to meetings, ect.
Her books do contain the message that God is wanting to help you live your fullest life ever by having the time of your life.
Hope you enjoy her book as much as I did. Blessings, Eileen
