Crescent City Cooking

December 10th, 2008

One thing that always makes me feel good is cooking and eating. I enjoy all the partying with friends and eating yummy food. One of the best places to eat in the world in New Orleans. On our last trip there I picked up a copy of Crescent City Cooking by Susan Spicer. I have been told by several New Orlean’s natives that she is the best chef in the city.

Her cookbook is wonderful. The dishes are unique New Orleans dishes with a flair. She gives a lovely list of things to stock in your pantry so you can make these extra special meals. Her pictures are mouth watering. I have tried several recipes and they are very good. If you love New Orleans cooking, I recommend you pick up this cookbook.

On page 61 she has a recipe for layered crepe gateau with prosciutto, ham and cheese or you can make it with crayfish and spinach….yum or try the recipe on page 315 called Bayona extra cheesy spoon bread, or on page 23` Seared Yellow fin Tuna with walnut red pepper sauce. Oh it is a feast.
