Yoga

YOga can be a wonderful way to relax, calm your mind, get in touch with your body. I take Yoga in Woodstock, IL. at the Yoga Lounge.

The nice thing about yoga is that whatever your physical abitilities are there is a way to practice. It increases flexability and strength. Part of the practice is getting in touch with your body and not going beyond what your body can do but still pushing yourself a little farther each time.

Breathing is a very important part of yoga. My instructor will often add instructions for breathing as well as the pose itself. Breathing energizes the body. Many of us do not really breath fully during the day. Our breath is shallow. A deep breath can be very calming and centering.

If you try a yoga class and you do not like it I urge you to look for a different class. There are many types of yoga. Somewhere out there is a class just for you;
